Friends Help the Horses
Dominique Pace, 23, of Tring and Zoe Knowles, 23, of Berkhamsted, Hertfordshire are organising a charity ball at Berkhamsted Town Hall on the evening of Friday 26 March. "A year ago our friend Ali died in a car crash and we wanted to organise an event in her memory. Ali's family asked for people to make a donation to The Horse Trust at Ali's funeral, so we decided to do this event in aid of The Horse Trust as well," said Dominique.
The friends are hoping to raise £3500 for The Horse Trust by selling tickets for the ball and holding a raffle. The money raised will go towards the cost of caring for the horses and ponies rescued from Spindles Farm, which are currently being looked after by the charity at its Home of Rest for Horses in Speen, Buckinghamshire.
"Because it's for Ali we've had a lot of interest in the event. It's a great chance for everyone to get together and remember Ali," said Dominique.
The ball is taking place between 7:30pm and 1am at Berkhamsted Town Hall. There will be bands playing, as well as a DJ and bar. Tickets cost £20 and can be purchased by contacting Dominique on dominique_pace@hotmail.com
