The Home of Rest for Horses is inviting applications for its 2007 grants for non-invasive research into equine diseases.

Applications should reflect the mission of The Home "Good Health is Good Welfare. The Home promotes the health and welfare of horses through support for needy cases, education and research to reduce disease and suffering" and will have to be endorsed by its scientific sub-committee.

Veterinary schools, university departments, research institutes and charities in the United Kingdom that have an interest in the horse are eligible to apply. Veterinary practices with registered equine hospitals may also apply for the equine scholarships and appropriately qualified individuals may apply for the clinical awards.

The grants fall into three sectors:

Subjects include pathology, surgery, internal medicine, epidemiology and anaesthesia. Institutions eligible are UK university veterinary schools, other university departments and institutes in the UK that have an interest in the horse, recognised charitable institutions in the UK e.g. The Animal Health Trust, and equine veterinary practices with registered equine hospitals in the UK.
