Joshua from The Horse Rangers has been reunited with old team mate Jack at The Home of Rest for Horses, Westcroft Stables in Buckinghamshire.
For 15 years Joshua, now a 21-year-old, 15.2 hand, dark bay gelding, worked tirelessly for The Horse Ranges at Hampton Court. This youth movement is a uniformed organisation for able bodied and special needs children and adults are associated with and interested in horsemanship.
Shirley Abbott, yard manager of The Home said: "Sadly Joshua’s arthritis had become too severe for him to continue working with the Horse Rangers. However, we are delighted to offer him a relaxing retirement and the chance to catch up with his best mate, Jack, who came to us last year."
The Horse Rangers is a self-supporting, non-profit-making voluntary organisation and The Home has also given them £500 to purchase much-needed rugs for their 25 horses.
Rebecca Evans, Grants Manager, said: "This is the second year we have helped the Rangers. Last year we contributed towards the purchase of numnahs."
