The Horse Trust Says Farewell to Visitors' Favourite

The Horse Trust has said its final goodbye to Bomber, its smallest resident. Standing at a tiny 32 inches high this cute grey Shetland mare, which had lived at the charity's Home of Rest for Horses since 1999, died on January 9.

A star in the children's TV programme Blue Peter in 2002, Bomber soon became a firm favourite with visitors to the Home.

At the age of 32, Bomber's health deteriorated in the past few weeks and it was clear the time had come to offer her a peaceful and dignified end to her long, happy life.

Bomber will be missed by all the staff at the Horse Trust but none more so than her dedicated groom Claire Clark, who had doted on her since her arrival more than six years ago.
