Jenga arrived at The Horse Trust in November 2012 together with Domino. They were rescued from a field in Hertfordshire.  Their bodily condition was truly appalling; they were emaciated, full of worms and suffering from a severe bacterial infection. They were so close to death we had to send them immediately to The Royal Veterinary College Equine Hospital for emergency treatment.

Jenga has made a remarkable recovery and is now looking for a loving home as riding pony.  He would be ideally suited to an experienced home where he can continue his education.

Jenga is good to handle, lead and tie up and to groom. He is good to catch and turnout.  He would benefit  from regular daily handling.  Jenga can be nervous of new situations and would benefit from a confident handler.

He is good to have his feet picked out and trimmed but can be a little nervous of ther farrier when being shod.  He loads and travels well, is good for the vet, dentist and to be wormed.

Jenga is a happy to be stabled as part of his daily routine but does require turnout on a daily basis.  He is currently living out 24/7 on restricted grazing with a group of geldings.

Jenga has  been broken to ride but is still relatively green and will need a rider who can help improve his skills and continue his education. He is good to lunge & long rein. He has seen light traffic and has hacked on local roads and bridlepaths in company.

Veterinary issues

Jenga is prone to weight gain so would benefit from a strict regime where his diet is carefully managed.  It is very important for him to have regular exercise to help maintain a healthy weight.  Jenga has had some joint medication in his hind feet following a mild lameness diaganosis.  This has proved successful but we do recommend it is monitored as par tof his annual health check by a vet.

Ideal loanee...

Jenga is an intelligent pony who is quick to learn and has lots to offer.  He would make a super riding pony suitable for general hacking, pleasure rides and basic schooling.  His suitability for jumping and hard work will be limited due to his previous lameness issue.   He is great to lunge and longrein and has been hacked out in company on local roads and bridlepaths.  He has seen light traffic. As Jenga is still relatively green, we are looking for a rider who can help improve his skills and continue his education.

Jenga is a super honest pony with a sweet and willing nature. If you feel you can offer Jenga a loving, long term home, please apply.
