“The World’s Most Famous Horse Show” has teamed up with “The World’s Oldest Horse Charity” to help lighten the load for shoppers at this year’s Horse of the Year Show (HOYS). The Horse Trust will run the Bag Drop in the Retail Village when the show returns to Birmingham’s NEC from 8th – 12th October 2014. With the very best in top-class competition and equestrian entertainment, a visit to Horse of the Year Show (HOYS) is an absolute must for every equestrian enthusiast!

HOYS hosts the most prestigious National Showing and Show Jumping Championships, International Show Jumping classes, Virbac 3D Worming Pony Club Mounted Games and Osborne Refrigerators Double Harness Scurry Racing. It will also, once again, be home to the famous Retail Village featuring 250 trade stands. The world famous Retail Village offers everything from equestrian clothing and equipment to unique gifts and gourmet food. With the inevitable accumulation of shopping bags, visitors can leave their purchases at the Bag Drop for the duration of their stay. It costs just £1.50 a time, £1 of which will be donated directly to The Horse Trust. The Bag Drop will be situated on the way to the Andrews Bowen International Arena, enabling visitors to store their bags and watch all of the HOYS action in comfort.

This year’s Show is packed full of entertainment, including the exciting return of the awe-inspiring Musical Ride of the Household Cavalry, which will headline the displays. Friday, 10th October, will be the day of choice for dressage fans, featuring The Eilberg Dressage Master Class and the Dressage Future Elite Championship. A training session for international riders on the morning of Thursday, 9th October, will enable visitors to see how the professionals get their horses ready for the week ahead. And on the Showing front, the new Ridden Partbred Pony of the Year Championship will welcome some previously unseen talent to HOYS.

Helena Pettit of Grandstand Media Ltd, organiser of HOYS, added: “We’re pleased to have The Horse Trust running the Bag Drop at this year’s Show. I know our audience will love hearing about the fantastic work that the Charity carries out and the different horses and ponies in its care.”
