Joey, the star of the hit play, even made a special appearance to support the re-opening of the Horse Trust on 5th June 2013. Joey met real War Horse Commando and wowed more than 200 guests at the event.

War Horse tells the powerful story of a young boy called Albert and his beloved horse, Joey, who has been requisitioned to fight for the English in World War I. Caught in enemy crossfire, Joey ends up serving on both sides during the war before landing in no man’s land, while Albert, not old enough to enlist, embarks on a treacherous mission to find his horse and bring him home.  War Horse is a remarkable tale of courage, loyalty and friendship.

War Horse is currently in its sixth year in London. The show, which has now been seen by over 1.7million people in London and by over 4 million people worldwide, is based on Michael Morpurgo’s novel about a boy and his beloved horse. It is directed by Marianne Elliott and Tom Morris and designed by Rae Smith, with puppet direction, design and fabrication by Basil Jones and Adrian Kohler for Handspring Puppet Company.
