16.2hh Brown mare born 1996

Belize has retired from The Household Cavalry Mounted Regiment after an amazing18 year career.

Belize is a black Irish Sports Horse with a very placid and lovely temperament and as a result had an extremely colourful career in the British Army performing in many Ceremonial Parades, for both The Household Cavary Mounted Regiment and The Mounted Band.

She took part in State Occassions such as HM The Queens Birthday Parade, The Royal Wedding in 2011, HM The Queens Diamiond Jubilee and State Visits of the Chinese President and South Korean President.Belize also served time on duty at Horse Guards while on Queen's Life Guard when she would serve as the Senior NCO's Standard Horse.

This gentle giant is indeed used to regimental life and was a bit unsure of the new surroundings when she first arrived from the Defence Animal Centre, however she soon found a friend in our mischievous  Shamrock and it is safe to say they are now firm field buddies...We wonder if the shyness is in fact an act and we have another covert cheeky veteran on our hands?
