Tarnish arrived at The Horse Trust from Defence Animal Centre in Melton Mowbray on 21st June 2017.

Tarnish is beautiful bay Irish Sports Horse who is 16.2hh and 24 years old who spent 19 years in service at The Household Division as an Officer's Charger; he has seen many a State Ceremony riding on The Queen's Birthday Parade several times! Look how smart he looks in his kit!

Tarnish also fulfilled the key role at the Equine Training Squadron within the Defence Animal Centre of helping teach members of the The Household Cavalry and The King's Troop Royal Horse Artillery to become riding instructors and was also well known for his poise and patience.

On arrival he was super inquisitive of his new surroundings but then seemed to relax right into retirement.. from seeing him settle in we would say he definitely has the stiff upper lip spirit of a veteran that has been on Ceremonial parade. He is a confident chap who knows what he wants and does what it takes to get the job done!
