Alfie

Alf, (full name Valiants Alf) is a Clydesdale cross. He gave 5 years of service to the Cleveland Mounted Police.

Alf arrived at The Horse Trust in January 2014 following the closure of the Cleveland Police Mounted Section.

He is very placid and gets on very well with other horses – he doesn’t mind that he’s not the boss!

This striking and beautiful Police Horse is extremely friendly and very chilled out.

During his time at Cleveland Mounted Section, Alf helped police the 2012 Olympic Games in London and was temporarily based at the Olympic Park.

He has also worked at many football matches at Middlesbrough Football Club.

Alf has a very important role here at The Horse Trust acting as the escort to our younger rescued residents. He helps give them confidencwhen they are introduced to riding out on the roads.
