 Melman Body

Melman arrived at The Horse Trust in November 2012.

He came to The Horse Trust on retirement from Thames Valley Police. Although he is called Otto on his passport, he was given the name Melman after the scared hypochondriac giraffe in the film Madagascar. This is due to his slightly nervous disposition.

Melman carried out various duties whilst serving with Thames Valley Police. He has policed many football matches at Reading, Oxford, High Wycombe, Milton Keynes, Luton, Portsmouth, Southampton, Cardiff, Swansea, Swindon, Leicester and Brighton. Melman has also attended events to help maintain public order including parades, patrols and concerts. He has escorted HM The Queen at Royal Ascot and The Household Cavalry in Windsor.  His last operational duty was during the Olympic Games in August 2012.
