Gabriel -

Piebald gelding born 2015

Gabriel DEC 2015

Gabriel is our youngest resident, and was born here at the Horse Trust.Gabriel’s dam, Eve was rescued from the Binfield case where 30 horses were abandoned.  Many of the horses abandoned were pregnant and suffering from heavy worm burden. We were very concerned for Eve’s health as she arrived in a very undernourished condition. She was underweight and riddled with small red-worm.  Amazingly in May, a true miracle happened, and Eve gave birth to Gabriel. He was born on the 9th May in the afternoon sunshine, a touch earlier than expected but big and strong, and was up on his feet in an amazing 15 minutes. Gabriel was named after our beloved little Angel who lost her fight for life at only six months old last Christmas time.Gabriel is a true miracle.

Gabriel was weaned from his mum in December 2015 and is enjoying life running around the field with his all his new mates. This little chap has a promising future, and it is hoped that he we eventually be rehomed. However, he has to stay with us until he is around 4 years old so he can be fully rehabilitated. He will undergo behavioural training and will hopefully be backed in this time.

Looking after Gabriel will put additional stress on our already stretched resources and so we need a little help to ensure that we can stay ready and able to care for him. If you would like to donate to Gabriel’s appeal, please click here.
