14.3hh Skewbald mare born in 2010

Maggie arrived at The Horse Trust in January 2013, after being seized from a field of horses by the RSPCA and the Police. She was severely emaciated and had been eating tree bark to survive in a flooded field. Due to Maggie’s terrible condition and severe lice infestation, she was admitted to the Royal Veterinary College for intensive care. Vets gave Maggie a 50/50 chance of survival, but she never gave up.

After many months of handling and training she was deemed suitable as a potential riding pony.  Maggie was  subsequently trained as a riding pony, but sadly has developed some lameness issues.  She is currently being reviewed by our veterinary team to determine her suitability for riding in the future.
