9hh Skewbald Mare born approx 2012

Vesta, a fiesty, young Shetland mare arrived at The Horse Trust in August 2017 as a welfare case.  She had been abandoned with such an advanced strangles infection that the abscesses that come with this horrible infection, had burst. She also had ringworm; an awful double whammy.

She was rescued by local charity SAFE and referred to us. We had her treated in hospital at the RVC for two weeks before she was well enough to transfer to our isolation unit.  She is recovering remarkably well. She's got a cracking personality and gallops around her little paddock without a care in the world, such a lucky girl to be found by people who really care.
