Retired Shire Horses - Tryfan

Tryfan is a retired Rural Shire Horse who came to the Trust in February 2007, along with his friends Tom, Rosie, Jim and Duchess, from a farm in Wales, where they took part in shows, weddings and parades. Jim, Tom and Duchess have sadly passed away but he remains best friends with fellow Shire horse Rosie.

Tryfan was used to being in the public eye at his previous home in Bodafon Farm Park in Llandudno where he enjoyed showing off his skills at pulling various carts including an ancient fire engine and agricultural implements and his speciality was harrowing the fields.

Read about Tryfan's friend Rosie, another retired working shire horse here at our horse charity.
