01/05/2016 Volunteer to Vet

Here at The Horse Trust’s Home of Rest for Horses we receive many applications for work experience or volunteering – and we try our best to accommodate as many of these requests as we can.  For health and safety reasons we cannot offer work to anyone below the age of 16, and our volunteers need to be comfortable working in a predominantly outdoor environment. We were recently able to offer Lucy the opportunity to work at the Home of Rest while she was resettling into civilian life after a career in the Royal Air Force.: Read full story>>


18/04/2016 Lochnagar in the wars

Lochnagar has been in the wars this week; he’s managed somehow to sustain some pretty nasty injuries to his face. We are not sure of the cause of his accident, but he managed to give us a pretty big scare when we found him with his eye completely swollen and closed and his forehead bleeding. As you can see his head is stitched up and the swelling around his eye is going down, he can actually open it a little now, however we can’t know yet whether he has any permanent damage to the vision in that eye.: Read full story>>

In March 2016, a selection of students from Hartpury College organised a charity demo with Badminton winner and Rio 2016 shortlist rider Paul Tapner in aid of The Horse Trust and Cancer Research UK. Hartpury Equine is one of the largest equestrian centres in the world, providing top class education alongside elite equestrian training.
