MG Owners’ Club Visits The Home Of Rest For Horses
Horse power of a different kind has made a memorable visit to The Home of Rest for Horses. For once the oldest residents at The Home were not the horses but a
large number of vintage and new 2-seater cars which gathered at Westcroft Stables for the Wycombe Area MG Club's Octagonal Run.
Susan Lewis of The Home said: "It was great to see so many smartly presented cars in such a beautiful location. I have to say they also proved to be far quieter
and a lot less greedy than the ponies and donkeys that normally graze in the field."
During their visit, the MG owners found that The Home of Rest for Horses is not just about retired horses. Spending time in the visitors' centre they learned of the
cost, care and commitment required by responsible horse ownership and the work carried out by the charity to find cures for many of the diseases which affect horses
worldwide.
The MG Owners' Club also gave £300 towards the care of the many elderly horses at the stables.
