The Home of Rest for Horses "Lights up Lambeth"
The Home of Rest for Horses, the world's oldest horse charity, has donated more than £6,500 for the installation of Ménage Arena Lighting at Vauxhall City Farm's Riding Therapy Centre.
Vauxhall City Farm was built on derelict land in 1977 to promote social welfare and education through working with people, animals and plants. Today the farm runs a successful Riding Therapy
Centre for disadvantaged and special needs children who live in the Vauxhall area of London.
Robyn Sanders, Riding Therapy Centre Manager for Vauxhall City Farm, is delighted with this new addition, "These flood lights will open up the door for evening riders to enjoy our centre.
This is a fantastic facility for Lambeth horse enthusiasts and many more special needs children will benefit from our free equestrian activities."
The Home if Rest for Horses have worked closely with Vauxhall City Farm over the past few years. During the summer and winter school holidays The Home offers rest and recuperation to six
of the Centre’s working horses. In 2004 Digby, a 26 year old, 15.1 hand bay gelding, was also retired to The Home after 20 long years of working as a riding school pony.
