A most welcome boost!
The Home of Rest for Horses, the nation’s oldest horse charity, has received a bequest of more than £600,000 from Mrs Helena Sylvia Jeffs of Wolverhampton,
who died in November 2004.
Brigadier Paul Jepson, Chief Executive and Resident Veterinary Director for The Home of Rest for Horses said, "We look after more than 100 retired horses, ponies and
donkeys at The Home and invest a large proportion of our funds into non-invasive equine welfare research. This kind of legacy is very gratefully received and will
benefit all horses worldwide."
"The Home relies totally on donations and legacies from the general public," he added. "Many people are unaware that such charitable legacies do not attract tax,
so such bequests are of huge benefit to organisations such as The Home of Rest for Horses."
