Who Could Do This To a Charity?
Two new heavy duty batteries which power a horse ambulance at The Home of Rest for Horses have been stolen from
the charity's premises at Speen, Buckinghamshire.
The ambulance conveys animals requiring veterinary care from nearby grazing land to The Home's Lacey Green pharmacy
for treatment by Veterinary Director Paul Jepson. Without the vehicle these horses cannot be transported for vital care and
medication.
"It will cost us nearly £200 to replace these batteries," said Mr Jepson. “That may not seem a huge amount of money but, as a
charity which relies totally on the general public for donations to continue its care for the horses, this is a significant bill
which we could well have done without."
Anyone who knows anything about the possible whereabouts of the batteries is invited to telephone The Home of Rest for Horses on
01494 488464 or to advise the local police.
