27/06/2012 The Horse Trust is Nominated Charity at Fidelity Blenheim Horse Trials 2012

The Horse Trust is delighted to have been named as the nominated charity at the Fidelity Blenheim Palace International Horse Trials 2012.  The three-day event, held over four days from 6th-9th September at the stunning Blenheim Palace, attracts the world’s best riders and thousands of spectators.

Spectators will be able to visit The Horse Trust daily in the Attractions Arena where they will be treated to a Black Beauty Parade featuring six ex-working horses of varying sizes and backgrounds including Star, one of the ponies rescued from the horrors of Spindles Farm back in 2008.

Thames Valley Police and the Light Cavalry will be supporting The Horse Trust throughout the event with the retirement of police horse Titan in the Main Arena on Sunday 9th September, prior to the CCI*** Show Jumping.

Visitors to the event will be able to get up close and personal with our horses and staff at our on-site stables.  Here we will also be running a Shopping Drop-Off service where you can securely store your shopping while you explore all that the Trials have to offer.

Jeanette Allen, Chief Executive of The Horse Trust, says “It will be the first time we have been involved with Blenheim in what is a very exciting year for the sport.”

“The Organising Committee are pleased to be able to help raise funds for this worthwhile charity and raise awareness of all its activities which, as well as its sanctuary and rescue work, also includes funding ethical research into equine diseases, achieving significant advances in the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of various equine ailments, including a new vaccine for Strangles,” adds Blenheim Event Director, Mandy Hervieu.
