01/04/2014 Introducing… Alfie of the Metropolitan Police Mounted Section!

Our newest arrival Alfie worked with the police for 14 years and has come to The Horse Trust on extended respite while he is receiving some on-going veterinary care. He is a stunning 17hh chestnut with three white socks.

In the police, Alfie was mostly used as a patrol horse and is described as an outstanding, reliable and brave police horse. Alfie is hugely popular at the Met and we are thrilled to be giving him a well-deserved rest.

If, after some time off, we and the Metropolitan Mounted Section together feel that Alfie is not able to return to work then he has a guaranteed retirement place with us.

The Horse Trust specialises in providing respite and retirement for working horses and Alfie joins our herd of retired and resting police horses from all over the country. To read more about them all, follow this link.
