Candlelight Christmas
The Horse Trust is running a Christmas event for visitors on Wednesday 9 December at its sanctuary in Speen, Buckinghamshire. The event, which runs from 4 – 5.30pm, offers visitors a unique opportunity to see the sanctuary by candlelight and take part in various festive activities. Visitors will be able to light a candle in memory of a loved one, or to make a wish; each candle will be laid out in the central courtyard of the sanctuary.
Visitors will also be able to purchase a stocking filled with tasty treats for one of the horses, ponies or donkeys at the sanctuary. Each stocking can be personalised with a greeting and hung on the recipient's stable door.
The Horse Trust will also be bringing in the donkeys from their paddock, and creating a festive atmosphere through carols and festive decorations.
"This is a great event for all the family to take part in. There will be a wonderfully festive atmosphere at the sanctuary with candles, Christmas carols and donkeys," said Charli Pardon, Head Groom at The Horse Trust.
Admission to the event costs £5, which covers entry to the event, a festive drink and mince pie, and a small donation to the charity. Only 100 tickets are available, so you are advised to buy a ticket as soon as possible.
To purchase a ticket, contact The Horse Trust on 01494 488 464 and ask for Shirley or Charli. Tickets can be purchased over the phone by debit or credit card, or can be paid for in cash at The Horse Trust office.
